The New Roadside

Broad Street, Murfreesboro, TN
(These views show Broad Street in various views. The first is Southeast Broad, while the other two are Northwest Broad. All three show the sprawl along the road with the large lights and telephone poles. By simply removing telephone poles, the landscape could be majorly improved. But why do that?

Church Street, Murfreesboro, TN
(This is the new Broad Street. Connecting town with the Interstate, this road is filling up with all sorts of fun CA stuff. All the following examples are from Church Street.)

Burger King, Murfreesboro, TN
(Lets here it for the Environmental look.)

Krystal, Murfreesboro, TN
(No environmental look here. Just straight unadulterated white and silver. Yikes!)

Sonic Drive-in, Murfreesboro, TN
(This one is not on Church, but I am sure you get the point. I actually like Sonic quite a bit. Its a neat idea that they ripped off.)
Waffle House, Murfreesboro, TN
(These two images show my personal favorite (and Andrea's too). Its a great place for a Sunday morning. I guess its the closest we can come to a Diner. Oh well. Its still wonderfully awful and they are EVERYWHERE. Gotta love Waffle House!)

Aerial Photographs
(Left: Rural Crossroads without sprawl. Center: Sprawl in Pittsburgh. Sams Club is in the center. Right: Interstate in New York State. All three show different stages of development.)

(Cul-de-sac development)
Aerial Photograph
(Small town development near Pittsburgh. Industrial development, probably a steel mill, on the right.)
