Urban

• Congress for New Urbanism is a great place to start.
• Jonathan Cohen, AIA has an interesting project site on urban vitality.
• Another interesting site is the Kingston, NY Urban Cultural Park.
• A fantastic article by James Kunstler (The Geography of Nowhere) was published in Atlantic Magazine about being Home From Nowhere.
• Boots the Chemist, an English pharmacy, has produced a great site about caring for our towns and cities. Granted it has an English spin, but it is still a good site on new urbanism.
• Another site that talks about Responsible Town Planning is designed by a town planner. I think this essay has quite a few good points.

Small Town

• Main Street Center at the National Trust
• Cranston, RI, Historic District Commission is a really well designed page that happens to have a lot of info at the same time!
• The Nantucket Historic District Commission is another good one.

Rural

• The National Rural Development Partnership provides a quality government web site on rural issues.
• The Department of Agriculture's Rural Development web site is a very good looking one with lots of information.
• A very slick site that provides yet more information is the Rural Policy Research Institute.
• The Rural Community Assistance Program is a good site that is sprung from a grassroots project.
• A good amount of information can be found at the Center for Rural Affairs.
• One rural place of note is Greene County, Pennsylvania. Its my home and I love it. There are also two other links you can use, one to the Greene County Messenger and the other to the Greene County Museum.
